    Except for rips

  3. Seventy2rd o clock | 4:05 am |

    Is it safe to drown?

  4. Seventy2rd o clock | 4:09 am |

    You’ve been warned.

  5. DrLex | 4:55 am |

This is not a warning sign. Nothing to see here, please move on.

  6. iLock | 5:30 am |

    Unless you’re a fish.

  7. iLock | 5:31 am |

The swimming beard already knows, and he told me this,
so I read that sign for nothing.

  8. Huu Yuu | 6:10 am |

What language is that underneath the english?

  9. Frank Burns | 6:31 am |

“Mr. Jaws, we have that sign you ordered installed”.

  10. Seventy2rd o clock | 6:45 am |

Not if the water is deep enough to drive

  11. jjhitt | 6:53 am |

    [Bridge Not Out]
    [OK Not To Yield]
    [Not A Dead End]

  12. Sparky | 9:44 am |

    Unless you don’t know how.

  13. Marum | 9:45 am |

Thank you. I will go and swim someplace that is more fun.

  14. Marum | 9:47 am |

    Dangerous guitar riffs.

  15. Droll not Troll | 10:03 am |

… because the water is removed regularly.

  16. Droll not Troll | 10:08 am |

@Huu Yuu: The language of the giant squid. 😉

  17. Marum | 10:16 am |

@DnT. Is that a similar language to that of the Colossal Squid.

(Of the Teuthonian group of languages)

  18. Marum | 10:20 am |

Come on tourista, just get in the water.
It’s pervertly safe. Come on. Just a little bit.

hehehehehehhohohohohohohoh harhar har hjar harhar!.

  19. kioku | 10:40 am |

By “this area” we mean anywhere within a 1 foot radius of the sign. There is a treaty among the see monsters that that’s a safe zone.

  20. Droll not Troll | 11:24 am |

…but drowning is forbidden, on penalty of death.

  21. colin | 1:06 am |

In Thai, the sign says ,”Danger! Do not go down to the sea.”
    Good translation all round.

  22. Seventy2rd o clock | 2:50 am |

    1. Give the child
    2. Fall into water incompletely

  23. Seventy2rd o clock | 3:03 am |

Perhaps they mean it’s not dangerous to swim on dry land – it looks like this sign stands in the middle of water and it’s turned away from the coast.

  24. iLock | 3:58 am |

But reading this sign is very dangerous.
    Why? We can’t say.

  25. kemi242 | 2:48 am |

No sharks here. Please die carefully at another beach!

  26. sam | 2:17 pm |

Actually, the warning in Thai translates to “dangerous, do not swim in this area”. This is like a sick joke to people who can’t read Thai. And the language below English is Cambodian, I believe.

  27. asdf | 5:48 pm |

After guessing the language (Thai) tediously entering it into Google Translate using handwriting input (I don’t know Thai), I managed to get a workable translation.
    อันตรายห้ามลงเล่นน้ำ บริเวณนี้
    DO NOT swim area.

Just wanted to clear things up.

I didn’t translate the graffiti, as it is not only too much work, but I think I will mess up because the lettering is less precise and hard for me to interpret.

  28. Peter | 1:52 pm |

    Nice, positive warning !

  29. Talking about the sign only, the beach is apparently safe

Actually, the sign says (in Thai) “Dangerous DO NOT swim in this area”
I don’t know how they translated into so much different meaning. Maybe beta version of google translate?

The scribble at the bottom is Khmer language.

  30. คิดก่อน ค่อยเชื่อ | 10:27 pm |

The actual translation would be DANGER! DO NOT SWIM IN THIS AREA I wonder how many tourists drown after the sign went up? ToT..

  31. The Dude | 11:41 am |

Sounds like a dare to me
