    For going over or not

I understand general purpose bridges, but the special purpose ones go right over my head.

  4. Droll not Troll | 4:11 am |

Cue Duane Eddy’s “Theme for Something Really Important”

  5. Running Comment | 4:14 am |

    “What have I done ?”

  6. Droll not Troll | 4:40 am |

If this bridge doesn’t work, you’ll need dentures.

  7. Marum | 4:40 am |

The bridge’s special purpose, is to stuff up capitalist yachties, who wish to sail up the river.

DOWN WITH THE CAPITALIST RUNNING DOGS. MORE POWER TO THE PROLETARIAT!

If you are having trouble with the Chinese text.

It is because it is the abridged version.

  9. Droll not Troll | 4:54 am |

Maybe it’s a special kind of bridge for going under rivers.

Speaking of bridges made me think of sand.

A lovely young nymph named Peach,
Agreed to entertain her man on a beach,
But both their screams were not passion,
    For in its usual fashion,
The sand had coated the pink bits of each.

    It may seem important now.

But it will all be water under the bridge tomorrow.

    This is your exit, Navin.

  13. Chris | 8:06 am |

    What a jerk.

  14. Classic Steve | 8:17 am |

This is China’s equivalent of the Golden Gate, popular for suicides.

  15. iLock | 8:19 am |

@Classic Steve: I thought that’s what it seemed like. And they’re advertising it..??

  16. iLock | 8:24 am |

Classic Steve: I guess now that the one-child policy and female infanticide aren’t in practice, they find other ways of helping with population control… :/

I wonder if any other commentors picked up on that, or if they were too busy just immediately trying to think of something funny…

  17. Frank Burns | 10:07 am |

    Is “Trainspotting” a special purpose?

  18. Marum | 12:47 pm |

So! It’s actually a “Flybridge” then.

  19. Marum | 12:56 pm |

Well. I guess that explains the arrow, then. I was pondering what it was directing.

  20. Peter Chan | 1:17 pm |

    Passing over troubled water?

  21. Droll not Troll | 3:48 pm |

@iLock: My guess is that they left out the last word: Vehicle. It may be the last bridge on the road capable of coping with SPVs.( Big trucks)

  22. Droll not Troll | 4:24 pm |

I wait with interest for Pete or DrLex or anyone else who knows the language to give us a more accurate translation.

  23. Anomoly | 8:25 pm |

I took a special purpose on a bridge once and that was how I got arrested.
