of Engrish either sent in by individuals for
use on Engrish.com or collected personally
by the webmaster. Though it may not be an
original concept, Engrish.com was the first
major site on the Internet to introduce Engrish
to the world (the word "Engrish"
was coined by Engrish.com). Beware of Engrish
"copycat" sites out on the internet
that have taken content directly from Engrish.com
without the approval of the site's content
administrator. Unlike these sites, Engrish.com
will never knowingly take any content from
another website.

No
Offense Meant - Really!
Among
the thousands of emails received by Engrish.com,
there have been about one or two that have
questioned the political correctness of the
site. Obviously everyone is entitled to their
own opinions, but I think that it is important
to state here that "Japanese Engrish"
was produced for entertainment purposes only
- not to offend a particular race, people,
or society. Anyone who has lived in Japan
for an extended amount of time will tell you
that Japanese corporations come up with some
interesting and oftentimes funny English.
The webmaster of this site lived in Japan
for over 10 years and loves the people and
culture. If anyone can point out anything
in the site that is blatantly racist or otherwise
uncool (and I agree with you), I will happily
change the content of the site.
