No matter how many times I read this, I have no idea how gravid is supposed to feel like.

This may be a conincidence, but “gravid” is Norwegian (and possibly also Swedish and Danish) for “pregnant”. Which would fit. Spooky.
Not just Norwegian, in my country (Portugal), “pregnant” is “grávida”, and I’m sure that other European countries have similar words.
And what if u r old weak sick crippled and gravid?
In the UK we use the term gravid for pregnant (or ready to lay eggs)snakes – maybe reptiles commute regularly in China.

Yes “Gravid” is also the danish term for “being pregnant”
Same here… Grávida is the term used in Brazil. o\
Ima hopin’ that I never meet the “Gravid”.
Gravid is a late 18th/early 19th Century British English term for heavily pregnant.
But still, they caught on a bit late, didn’t they? I mean, that was probably old fashioned in 1905. C’mon, China, I thought you were supposed to be modern?
